Court of Appeal Visit

In October 2011, Windsor Law was honoured to host the first visit by the Ontario Court of Appeal judges as a group to an Ontario Law School, part of the Court's outreach programme.

The day featured a group assembly as well as a series of break out sessions where judges gave frank accounts of their work and engaged with Windsor Law students in an interactive format.  Topics discussed included ethics and professionalism, effective advocacy, access to justice and significant recent decisions from the Court.

The Court's 2011 Annual Report notes that the judges "were impressed with the enthusiasm and depth of understanding shown by the students at Windsor Law" and that "informal discussions with the faculty provided members of the Court with a valuable opportunity to learn about a broad array of current research and teaching activities being pursued by faculty at this vibrant and innovative school."

The visit provided a special opportunity for the Windsor Law community to gain insight into the the workings of the Court of Appeal, and to welcome back Justice Eleanore Cronk, a member of our class of 1975.
