Lauren Sharpley

Lauren Sharpley 

Lauren is a Master's student in Sociology at the University of Windsor.  Her research interests include sociological theory, morality and ethics, human-animal studies, and law.  She holds an Honours BA in criminology from the University of Windsor. Lauren is a member of The Golden Key Honour Society and has received the A.R. and E.G Ferris award.  She has also had presentations accepted to the CSA Congress in 2019 and 2020. 

Lauren's Master thesis uses radical Durkheimian theory to examine a possible connection between social anomie and violence against animals through the analysis of animal cruelty court cases.
