Entry to MBA-PAS is highly competitive. Our team will evaluate each component of the application and only once all the required information has been submitted will a decision be made. The following are the minimum requirements to apply to the MBA-PAS program.
Applicants who have a four-year Bachelor of Commerce degree, minimum two years of work experience, and a completed CPA designation may qualify for advanced standing in the MBA Professional Accounting Specialization program. The determination for direct entry into the MBA phase of the program is granted by the MBA Professional Accounting Specialization Program Director.
Successful completion of 120 credit hour undergraduate degree.
A cumulative GPA of 70% in the previous academic degree/last 20 courses/ 4 full-time semesters and minimum average of 70% CGPA in Core Preparatory Courses.
Must be eligible to begin the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
If you are not eligible for CPA PEP, you may need to complete the Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting.
The GMAT Executive Assessment is required prior to admission. Official GMAT score reports should be sent directly to the Odette School of Business from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
Note: The GMAT requirement may be waived for students with high academic achievements in core accounting courses or significant relevant work experience (at the discretion of the Director of the MBA-PAS program).
For CPAs given advance standing in the program, the GMAT requirement is waived.
Applicants whose native language is not English must achieve a satisfactory score on one of the following tests.
- Test of an English Foreign Language (TOEFL) (600 paper, 250 computer, 100 IBT)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – (7.0)
Applicants are exempt from submitting an English language proficiency examination score if any one of the following conditions is true:
- Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at a Canadian institution.
- Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, as indicated on our exemption list.

The letter of intent (1-2 pages) should outline the following:
- Why you want to complete an MBA
- Your skills, knowledge, and past experiences
- Your career goals and aspirations and how an MBA could help
- Why you would be a good MBA candidate
An updated resume, showing your past work experience, education, etc., is required.
Two letters of reference are required. The letter of reference can be either academic or professional.
When completing the online application you will be required to enter the full name and contact information of your reference. Based on the information that you have provided in the online application your reference will be contacted via email to complete a confidential assessment.

Qualifying interview with the Program Administrator and/or Director of MBA-PAS.
For students that are out of town, a phone or virtual interview will be provided.
