Offered by the Centre for Teaching and Learning and the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Graduate Diploma (GDip) in University Teaching (Type II) is an in-depth program that integrates theory with practice to foster excellent teaching. Students explore the scholarly literature on effective teaching, draw on theoretical principles and apply them in practice, and develop as effective and reflective educators.
By completing the program, participants learn how to design effective courses, engage students in the classroom in a variety of ways, develop and articulate a teaching identity, and draw on the scholarly literature to evaluate their practice for continuous improvement.
Students can only apply to the Graduate Diploma in University Teaching after acceptance into a Master’s or PhD program at the University of Windsor; and must be actively enrolled in the Master’s or PhD program while undertaking the requirements of the Graduate Diploma. There is no tuition cost associated with the Graduate Diploma in University Teaching.
If you are a faculty member, sessional instructor, or post-doc, and are interested in a non-formalized version of this program, please visit the CTL’s University Teaching Certificate Program.
