Continuing Education Fair helps students discover possibilities

As Rita Jabbour understands it, it’s a simple formula.

“The more school you have, the more money you make over time,” said the fourth-year history major, one of hundreds of UWindsor students touring the Continuing Education Fair in the CAW Student Centre on Tuesday.

She spoke with Chris Young, program administrator for the Odette MBA, about pursuing graduate study in business.

“It would let me take what I have learned in history and apply it to help society,” Jabbour said.

Award-winning business prof hopes to bolster non-profit sector

A new professor in the Odette School of Business is hoping his business acumen can help build on Windsor’s well-earned reputation for generosity and caring by bolstering the area’s non-profit sector through research and increased collaboration.

“There’s a need for a multidisciplinary approach to some of the contributions the non-profit sector is making to this community,” said Chris Fredette, who comes to UWindsor from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University.

Sharing good ideas focus of Odette's new associate dean's research

Given that Gurupdesh Pandher knows a thing or two about sharing good ideas, it might be reasonable to expect that there should be some choice new ones coming out of the Odette School of Business in the not-so-distant future.

The faculty's new senior associate dean, academic, Dr. Pandher has spent a fair portion of his research time focusing on why employees of various organizations share performance improving ideas and innovation – or, as is more often the case – keep them to themselves.

University open house to get boost on local radio show

Business professor Vincent Georgie will discuss the University’s November 9 open house and other efforts to recruit high school students during an “Experts on Call” segment this weekend on CKLW radio, AM 800.

Dr. Georgie’s appearance will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 6.

Print, online, radio, social media, and movie theatre promotions will launch the UWindsor marketing campaign in southwestern Ontario markets later this month.

Tom Lewand, president of the National Football League’s Detroit Lions, will discuss the fundamental leadership attributes and processes that he used to make the team one of the most-improved in the NFL during the next instalment of the Odette School of Business Breakfast with Champions speaker series, Tuesday, October 2.

Business alum to speak on world’s most valuable asset

UWindsor alumnus Paul Alofs (BA, BComm 1978), president of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, will speak at the Odette School of Business on Thursday, September 20, as part of its Celebrating Leadership Excellence series, funded through the Richard Peddie leadership initiative.

Alofs will share insights from his new book, Passion Capital: The World’s Most Valuable Asset, will take questions and sign copies of his book.

Event to launch Centre for Enterprise and Law programs
