Getting Started

If you are an editor responsible for creating your department's website or you would like to create one for yourself or group there are several items you need to consider to start the process.

These include:

  • What information should be included on my site?
  • How is the information organized?
  • Who will maintain that information?

Information Technology Services (ITS) can assist with the architecture of your site, its organization and access permissions.

Public Affairs & Communications (PAC) can assist with graphics and writing. The department includes graphic designers and editors who can help you craft your message at no cost.

Once you are confident in your content and its organization you can start to build your site. University websites are delivered using Drupal 7 open-source software.

ITS offers training courses and provides support for site editors and owners.
