My name is Fawne Lomascolo, and I am Red River Métis. Although my family roots are in Manitoba, I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, and spent ten years living in Alberta—experiences that have shaped who I am today. I am a proud mother of two sons, Nathan and Aidan, and a grandmother of my heart, Beau. Serving others has always been at the heart of my purpose.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with youth and families, offering support, care, and encouragement wherever it was needed. I hold a teaching degree and have extensive training in mental health and wellness. I have been deeply involved in Indigenous communities both here in Windsor and out west, and I feel incredibly grateful to have learned from many different Nations along my journey.
In the past, I ran the Indigenous Art and STEM camps out of Turtle Island House, an experience that was both meaningful and inspiring. Most recently, I come from the WECSDB, where I served as the Indigenous Student Success Coach for two years. Outside of my work, I find joy and healing in nature. I love staying active through hiking and kayaking, and I enjoy creating my own candles, soaps, and salves. Nature is where I go to reconnect, restore, and ground myself. I truly look forward to meeting everyone and creating a welcoming, supportive space where you feel comfortable, valued, and excited to be.

Tânsi! My name is Victoria and I am the Indigenous Outreach and Retention Coordinator at Turtle Island. I am Plains Cree and a proud member of the Ochapowace Nation in Saskatchewan. I began my journey at UWindsor in 2019 as an undergraduate student, studying English and Creative Writing with a minor in Indigenous Studies. After graduating in 2023, I joined Turtle Island as a staff member working closely with Indigenous students, sharing what I’ve learned, and helping them feel supported in their post-secondary journeys.
