Indigenous Education Council (IEC) 

Supporting Indigenous Education and Reconciliation 

The Indigenous Education Council (IEC) provides guidance to the University of Windsor on Indigenous education, student success, community engagement, and institutional priorities. The Council brings together Indigenous community members, students, faculty, staff, and university leadership to support meaningful action toward Truth and Reconciliation. 

What We Do 

  • The Council provides advice and recommendations on initiatives that: 
  • Support Indigenous student success and belonging.  
  • Strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities.  
  • Advance Indigenous perspectives in teaching, learning, and research.  
  • Support the University's commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.  

Membership 

The Council includes representatives from Indigenous communities and the University, including students, faculty, staff, Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and senior administration.
