Your UWin Account is your personal digital identification for accessing most online services at the University of Windsor. A valid and active UWin Account is required of everyone associated with the University of Windsor who plans on using any of the IT systems and services.
The UWin Account has two components:
- UWin ID (also known as userid, login or user name)
- UWin password.
Your UWin ID is a string that uniquely identifies you on our network and systems. It appears before the "@" sign in your primary University of Windsor email address (UWinID@uwindsor.ca). Most University computer systems use your full UWinID@uwindsor.ca as the username. A few systems, however, require just your UWin ID to be entered as the username.
*Note: some UWindsor email addresses also have an alias, usually in the form firstname.lastname@example.org, as a second option to send and receive email. An alias can not be used to authenticate into systems.
