About the Speaker:
Derek Marques is an MLBPA Certified Baseball Agent and Baseball Advisor at Lakeridge Sports Management (LSM). Marques founded LSM in the spring of 2018 after starting his career as an agent with a Chicago-based Multi-Sport agency. Derek has been referred to as a hands-on agent, whose focus is on communication, both with the athletes he represents and the teams he deals with. Derek has often been referred to as a “Players Agent”, putting the needs of his clients above all else. He devotes considerable time promoting the underappreciated, off-field aspects of the athlete and brings these values to the position at LSM. Derek’s interpersonal connection is a strength he utilizes to provide his clients with the personalized service they deserve and to help grow LSM’s brand and reputation. Currently, LSM represents over 30 players in affiliated baseball and over 20 players in the independent and international league as well as advising over 30 players for the 2021 MLB Draft which will be held this July.
