Shanthi Johnson on strengthening Canada-India ties

Canada’s relationship with India is the focus of a recent opinion piece by University of Windsor’s Vice-President, Research and Innovation Shanthi Johnson, in The Hill Times. 

Johnson outlines the need for a stronger, more strategic approach to the relationship that recognizes the connections among education, skilled talent, research, entrepreneurship and innovation. 

Drawing on her experience as a former international student and a research and higher education leader, Johnson argues that the relationship between Canada and India extends well beyond cultural diplomacy and immigration.  

She says the Canada-India talent and innovation ecosystem can strengthen innovation and competitiveness in both countries.
