Lancers coaches honoured for lasting impact on sport and student-athletes

Two Windsor Lancers coaches have received prestigious provincial honours recognizing decades of leadership and their impact on student-athletes and their sports.

Brett Lumley, associate head coach of Lancer track and field, received the Andy Higgins Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ontario Coaching Excellence Awards Sept. 19 at BMO Field in Toronto.

Chantal Vallée, head coach of Lancer women’s basketball, was inducted into the Ontario Basketball Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class.

Celebrated Lancers women’s basketball head coach and faculty member Chantal Vallée has added another honour to her long list of accomplishments and awards: being featured alongside top global executives in the Brunswick Review. 

Her profile appears in the magazine’s August 2025 Navigation issue, which highlights inspirational leaders in business, art and sport navigating uncertain times. 

Trip provides global perspective to kinesiology students

Two courses brought together 13 adventurous students from the Faculty of Human Kinetics for a two-week global perspective learning experience in Costa Rica, April 22 to May 4.

This marked the third annual visit by students from the faculty, continuing a growing tradition of international engagement and experiential education.
