For Antoni Cimolino (BFA ‘84, DHum ‘04), the final weeks of his 14-season tenure as artistic director of the Stratford Festival are unfolding onstage in Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

The production also marks a milestone for fellow UWindsor graduate Rose Napoli, who is making her Stratford debut under Cimolino's direction.

And just days after the production closes, Cimolino's own story will return to Windsor, this time on the big screen.

The smell of fresh popcorn drifted through the air as excited chatter filled the Capitol Theatre foyer. 

Guests shuffled forward in long lines, tickets in hand for the next screening at the Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF). 

A student volunteer in a witch costume handed out candy, sparking laughter and conversation. 

Strangers leaned into small talk, then laughter. A spontaneous emoji-based movie quiz turned them into teammates.

The creative prowess of University of Windsor students and alumni featured prominently at this year’s Mark Boscariol 48-Hour FlickFest.

The unique event — part of the Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) — challenges filmmakers to write, shoot and edit a short film in just two days.

Competing alongside 19 teams (including one from the U.S.), several UWindsor-led production teams took home top honours across multiple categories.
