WINDSOR, Ont. — The University of Windsor has reached its highest-ever position in the QS World University Rankings, ranking third in Ontario among non-medical universities and placing among the world’s top 20 per cent for research impact.

WINDSOR, Ont. —  The University of Windsor’s Board of Governors approved today the appointment of Dr. J.J. (John-Justin) McMurtry as the eighth President and Vice-Chancellor, following an extensive search led by a committee that included Senate and Board of Governors representation. 

Dr. McMurtry’s appointment will take effect September 1, 2025, following the retirement of President Robert Gordon. Dr. Gordon has served as President and Vice-Chancellor since 2019 and will conclude his term after six years of dedicated and transformative leadership.
