Destination Science

Destination Science provides sessions for academic support to all undergraduate Science students. Sessions include study methods, exam preparation and useful exam strategies for success. It also provides many outreach opportunities to engage our community in science at UWindsor. Refer to the pdfs at the end of the page to find contact information of Faculty of Science Academic Advisors and departments.

  • PASS (Preparation for Academic Success in Science) – This orientation program for all incoming Science students introduces them to all available academic support, volunteering opportunities and social programs to enrich their undergraduate experience. Held annually on the Tuesdays and Wednesdays of Welcome Week in September.

  • Sailing through Science - Workshops to support science students in preparing for their courses. Focus is on how to write lab reports, read scientific papers, and more. Held throughout the academic year. 

  • Academic Advisory Days – This event provides guidance and advice to all students in science regarding course selection, program planning and opportunities for experiential learning. Also includes group discussions and advice from the Associate Dean Science for Undergraduate Students. Held annually in mid-November.   • Parents Night – This event invites all parents and high school students to an information session with the Dean of Science to learn about our academic programs and the unique experiential learning opportunities we offer all students in the Faculty of Science. This annual event is held in mid-October.

  • Science Academy Each July, top grade 11 students from local high schools participate in an immersive week of science discovery and experiential learning with mini-lectures, hands-on experiments, research lab tours, and social activities. Students are exposed to all areas of science and interact directly with our students, staff, and faculty.

  • Shadow Days – We invite grade 12 students to explore our campus and science courses by shadowing one of our science students for a day. Held several times a year, students can book appointments for Shadow Days through the UWindsor Recruitment officePlease contact science@uwindsor.ca if you would like a virtual meeting with a faculty or student. You may also book a personal campus tour through our UWindsor Recruitment Office.
