Field Resources

BSW Field Education courses are required courses and successful completion of Field Education I & II courses is required for graduation. Extending over two semesters of study (September – May), field placements involve a minimum of 700 hours in supervised field practice in a human service organization or community setting. Undergraduate students complete the field courses in their fourth year. The Field Education Program provides experiential educational opportunities directed toward the development of values, knowledge and skills required for generalist social work practice. All Undergraduate students must adhere to the Undergraduate Field Education Policies and Standards Manual during their placement. Welcome to the Master of Social Work Field Education. Field education is a requirement of the Social Work Program at the University of Windsor and successful completion of the field education course is required for graduation. The Graduate Field Program provides experiential educational opportunities directed toward the development of values, knowledge and skills required for advanced social work practice. The requirement for Field Education is as follows:

MSW One Year Advanced Standing Program

  • Advanced Practice Internship (450 hours) completed in winter term (four days per week full-time)

MSW Two Year Regular Track Program

  • Year 1 - Foundation Year Practicum (450 hours) completed in intersession and summer session terms (four days per week full-time)
  • Year 2 - Advanced Practice Internship (450 hours) completed in winter term (four days per week full-time)
