The NMPL is also home to the Electric Improv Lab (EIL).

The Electric Improv Lab was founded in 2003 to explore the musical possibilities of free improvisation within an electroacoustic focus. Since then the EIL has held dozens of open jam sessions and staged performances in a variety of venues in southern Ontario. Over the last few years, sessions and performances have increasingly centred on interactive performance environments and multimedia improvisation.
