HyFlex Classroom Technology

Technology enabled classrooms available to enhance your interactions with students

Console set up with dual monitors, crestron panel, phone, and doc camera in classroomThe University has a number of HyFlex spaces (sometimes called flexible delivery classrooms) on campus with technology built in to make it easier for instructors to share multiple inputs, record a session if they wish, stream and interact with online students, and more. While some instructors/presenters may wish to try a HyFlex teaching approach that allows students to choose between being in-person or online, others might just wish to take advantage of the technology available in the spaces.

Technology/capabilities available in HyFlex classrooms

  • Tracking camera (you can control if you prefer)
  • Document camera
  • Airmedia (ability to present wirelessly, such as from a tablet)
  • Present from inbuilt computer and/or laptop
  • Screen sharing
  • Use picture in picture
  • Multiple screens to monitor what is happening in-class and online
  • Separate high quality recording capability (can record multiple screens and multiple audio streams).
  • Share any feed (camera, laptop, tablet, etc.) to the projector and/or online audience
  • Control if online audience/presenters can speak through classroom speakers.

You will want to make sure you know how to use the technology and to that end we offer workshops (called orientation to flexible delivery classrooms) every term or contact us if you have questions or don’t see one scheduled.

HyFlex mobile carts

The HyFlex carts have slightly different functionality from the regular HyFlex classrooms (fixed camera- not tracking; large touch screen display, etc.)
To book a mobile cart hands-on practice session, the request can be made via Service - Classroom AV Equipment (teamdynamix.com).
