Site content editors are responsible for managing their URL paths under their sites.
For example, your new conference web page may have a URL like: www.uwindsor.ca/psychology/302/motivationconference2017
To do this, you can create a URL redirect or URL alias. An alias is created by editing a page, going to URL path settings on the left, and renaming the page using a suitable slug.
In the above example, we can shorten www.uwindsor.ca/psychology/302/motivationconference2017 to www.uwindsor.ca/psychology/motivation simply by using a more suitable URL alias, or adding a URL redirect to the original URL.
A redirect allows you to have a more memorable and distinct address for your content.
