Embed a video on your web page

Editors may wish to have a video play right on their web page (embedded) rather than simply linking to a video that will open in a new tab or window.

In order to embed a video, editors need to be able to edit in Plain Text/HTML mode.

Hosting options: Videos are hosted on YouTube

YouTube — Embed a YouTube video

You cannot use the URL of your YouTube video to embed the video on your page.
Using the URL alone will only link to the video, not embed the video.

Navigate to your YouTube video.

Below the video on the right-hand side is a Share button.

Select Share and the Share window will open.

Select Embed.

The Embed Video window will open and the embed code will be available for you to copy.

Copy the embed code and navigate back to your Drupal web page.
Ensuring you are in Plain Text/HTML mode, paste the embed code into your web page.

Save your page.
