Embed a video on your web page

Editors may wish to have a video play right on their web page (embedded) rather than simply linking to a video that will open in a new tab or window.

In order to embed a video, editors need to be able to edit in Plain Text/HTML mode.

Hosting options: Videos can be hosted on the university's UView platform or on YouTube.

Option 1: UView — Embed a UView video

Information on how to access UView and tutorials on uploading videos can be found on the UView website.

Once your video has been properly uploaded, navigate to the Share tab.
At the bottom of the page is a section titled, Embed Code.

Copy the embed code and navigate back to your Drupal web page.
Ensuring you are in Plain Text/HTML mode, paste the embed code into your web page.

Option 2: YouTube — Embed a YouTube video

You cannot use the URL of your YouTube video to embed the video on your page.
Using the URL alone will only link to the video, not embed the video.

Navigate to your YouTube video.

Below the video on the right-hand side is a Share button.
