Using images on your site

The university maintains two photo libraries where you can access images from across campus to use on your website.

Go to the PAC Image Library
(note: you must request access for this site, your UWin ID is not automatically set up)

Go to the CTL Photography Database

If you require custom photography for your site the university photographer is Tory James.

You cannot use images that have been copied or downloaded from other websites.

The university, through PAC, must ensure we have the rights and permissions to use any particular photo.

When your site is audited all images will be checked for rights and permissions.

While images can help break up text and add interest to your pages remember that what your audience wants most is to get the information they have come for.

Also remember that many of the people visiting your site, especially students, are using mobile devices and not desktop computers with large monitors.

Over-use of images can end up frustrating your user.
