International Arrivals: Important Information

Prior to leaving your country of origin, please visit our International Arrivals for Fall 2020 page and review all information carefully and thoroughly before proceeding with your plans. 


International Arrivals for Fall 2020 & Winter 2021

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Effective October 20th, international students with a valid study permit will be permitted to travel to Canada provided that they are attending a designated learning institution (DLI) with a COVID-19 readiness plan approved by their provincial or territorial government.

The University of Windsor is a designated learning institution and has submitted a COVID-19 readiness plan to the Government of Ontario for approval. This plan is currently being evaluated by provincial public health officials. We hope to have response prior to October 20th. If approved, UWindsor international students may travel to Canada provided they follow the directives outlined within our institutional plan, including the requirement quarantine for 14-day upon arrival. On-campus quarantine options will be made available to inbound students.

As you are no doubt aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the University of Windsor has made the decision to close all non-essential university offices until further notice.

You can access services in alternative ways until further notice.

Many resources are also available through ISC’s Blackboard site.  If you can't find the answers you're looking for on our website, on Blackboard or by using the site, please visit the ISC Virtual Front Desk!  You can access the Virtual Front Desk through our Blackboard site by clicking on "ISC Virtual Lounge" in the left hand menu.  The Virtual Front Desk is open Monday through Friday 8:30am - 11:30am EST.  We are happy to help in any way we can!

Attention new students: please complete the Soft Landing Arrival Form if you haven't already done so. 

The ISC provides a variety of quality services and programs to support almost 4,000 UWindsor international students, scholars, and their family members from over 92 different countries.

Once you arrive on campus, you will be welcomed with a variety of orientations and arrival programs to help you successfully transition to the University of Windsor. The ISC team works diligently to help you achieve your academic and personal goals while in Canada. We provide professional advising services including academic support, information about health coverage and immigration information. We also provide plenty of extracurricular programming to ensure that your time at the University is not only academically fulfilling but also socially engaging. The ISC also administers exchange programs for students coming from abroad and for students studying at our partner institutions around the world.
