System Status & Notifications

Blackboard Maintenance – Thursday, Sept 8, 8:30-9:30 p.m.

Blackboard will undergo maintenance this evening, Thursday, Sept 8, between 8:30-9:30 p.m. Users may notice a system slowdown during this period.

Increase in Phishing

IT Services has been dealing with an increase in phishing encountered on campus under the subject of "Re-confirm your cell#". IT Services reminds you to be diligent when responding or acting to e-mails. 

If you think you have received a phishing message:

  • Do not respond
  • Forward the message to spam@uwindsor.ca
  • Delete it

If you clicked on a link or opened an attachment:

  1. Contact the IT Service Desk at 519-253-3000 ext. 4440.
  2. Change your UWin Account password by going to the University of Windsor website and click on "Manage UWin Account" in the footer at the bottom of the page and then select "Change Your Password.“

 

Campus Systems Restoration - Systems and Services Priority List Now Available
As the University’s restoration efforts continue due to the cyber security incident, a systems and services priority list is available. To view the list, sign in with your UWin ID. The list identifies available key systems and services and the anticipated restoration dates for the remaining systems.
Network maintenance Friday June 17, 10:00pm to 12:00am
IT Services will be upgrading the software on the campus firewalls Friday June 17, 10:00pm to 12:00am. This will result in brief outages to some departments and a 30 minute outage to users of the mobile VPN service (mobile devices and Linux).

UWinsite Student Intermittent Disruption – Sunday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to noon

UWinsite Student will be unavailable between 11 a.m. (EST) until noon, Sunday, June 19, 2022. During this maintenance period, important security & software updates will be applied to improve performance.

Planned Internet Maintenance – Friday, June 17, between 10-11:59 p.m.

Campus internet service will undergo network improvements Friday, June 17, from 10 to 11:59 p.m. by our service provider, Connecting Windsor-Essex (CWE). The outage should last no longer than 40 minutes during the period noted above.   

In addition to intermittent internet disruption, all UWindsor systems will be off-line during the outage, including:   

  • UWinsite Student 
  • Blackboard
  • MyUWinfo

​​You may have to restart or log in again on various platforms when the service resumes.  

If you have difficulties accessing the internet on campus after the outage, please contact the IT Service Desk on Saturday after 8:30 a.m. by calling 519-253-3000 ext. 4440.
