New Edge Browser

Microsoft as made a fundamental change to the Edge browser. The new Edge is faster, more secure, supports Adobe Acrobat forms, and provides easy syncing of bookmarks and history between computers that you sign on to.

Campus manged computers (including computers in classroom (lecture rooms) will be upgraded in early June 2020. Users can upgrade to the new browser before then using the Company Portal. For more information, read KB 101352 

Users of unmanaged computers can expect Edge to be automatically upgraded as part of the Windows Update later this year.

UWindsor.ca Website Maintenance – May 26th

UPDATE (11:30 am) : Issues with uwindsor.ca and Leddy Library website have been resolved.  If you continue to experience any issues, please notify us by logging a ticket on the IT Services website.  Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE (9:30 am) : Content editors can login and update their websites.  We are continuing to work on issues relating to the uwindsor.ca homesite as well as Leddy Library.

UPDATE (8:30 am) : We are currently troubleshooting an issue with the uwindsor.ca homesite.  Users may experience pages on the homesite loading improperly.  We will provide an update as we're able to resolve this issue.

Starting at 7:30 am on May 26, we will be performing some necessary maintenance on the uwindsor.ca production server. We do not expect any major issues during the process, however, all authenticated users will be logged out and page edits will not be able to be made during this period. We anticipate the entire maintenance process will take about one hour and will post an update on the IT Services website when it is complete ( https://www.uwindsor.ca/itservices ). 

Staging Server Unavailable for Maintenance - May 7, 8:00 am

UPDATE:  Staging websites will be available as of 9:00 am.  We are continuing to monitor the server post-maintenance. Please open a service ticket to notify us of any issues you experience.  Thanks.

Websites hosted on our staging server will be unavailable while we perform maintenance starting at approximately 8:00 am on May 7th.  Work is expected to take approximately one hour and we will post an update once it is complete.  Thank you.

TeamDynamix Version Upgrade

A scheduled TeamDynamix upgrade is set to happen on May 9, 2020 between 12 AM and 4 AM Eastern Time. Durring this time, TeamDynamix will be unavailable. 

Email changes to bring additional capacity and security

Information Technology Services will continue making changes to the University’s email system on Friday, May 01. No large scale outages are anticipated as part of the upgrades. IT Services expects the email system to be more usable and robust as well as able to handle higher volumes with increased security.

It is possible that some email sent to the Internet may be delayed while this change propagates.
