Windsor Law Wins the OTLA Cup – March 2016

The 2016 Ontario Trial Lawyers Association Cup was hosted by the University of Windsor on Saturday, March 5. The Honourable Justice Thomas Carey presided with OTLA members from around the province sitting as jurors. Teams from Osgoode Hall Law School, Queens’ University, Western University, the University of Ottawa and Windsor participated.  

The Windsor Law team was comprised of two counsel - Dayna Cooke and Juliano Pichini, both Law 3 – and their witnesses – Noah Haynes, Law 2. The team was coached by Francine Herlehy, Assistant Dean (Student Services) and Monica Pathak ‘06 with assistance from Surinder Multani, CLA articling student.

The Windsor Law team represented the plaintiff in a complex personal injury matter involving social host liability, a boating accident and negligent repair. Not only was the Windsor Law team successful in verdict, our counsel were recognized for their outstanding advocacy.
