Justice at Work Conference

On Wednesday, January 29 Windsor Law's Career Services Office hosted the 12th annual Justice at Work (JAW): Public Interest Career Conference. JAW provides an opportunity for law students to learn from leaders in the public interest arena, and is designed to illustrate pathways law students may pursue to attain legal careers that advance social justice.

The day-long event began with a panel presentation featuring:

  • Josh Ginsberg, Director of EcoJustice Environmental Law Clinic
  • Nana Yanful, Lawyer at Black Legal Action Centre
  • Ron Franklin, Employment and Human Rights Lawyer at Franklin Law

The afternoon featured a keynote address by human rights activist Alex Neve, Secretary General at Amnesty International Canada.

Finally, a career fair took place in the Alumni Auditorium at the CAW Student Centre which included representatives from the following organizations:

  • Children’s Aid Society
  • Bilingual legal clinic
  • Community Legal Aid/Legal Assistance Windsor
  • LLM Program Windsor Law
  • Peacebuilders
  • Justice for Children and Youth
  • Human Rights Legal Support Centre
