On Thursday, Sept. 27, the University of Windsor Faculty of Law unveiled an important initiative designed to protect and uplift Indigenous children across Ontario. 

By enhancing legal representation in child welfare cases, the project aims to keep children safely within their families and communities—allowing them to grow up surrounded by their culture, identity and support networks.

Next summer, a team of scientists will travel across the Arctic tundra in a new mobile research and training lab. 

As they collect data in Iqaluit, they hope to better understand how the rapidly declining snow bunting — an Arctic-breeding songbird that winters in southern Canada — is responding to urban development in the North.

Now, the five-year veteran of the women’s hockey team has returned to campus to become a full-time assistant coach of that very team.

What started as a field trip to farms and wineries for a biology course, ended with job offers and a potential new career path for some students.

Prof. Sherah Vanlaerhoven brought the students from BIOL 4008, Integrated Pest Management course, to five agricultural businesses across Essex County to learn about economic pest control practices.

The Leddy Library Book Sale returns Monday, Oct. 6. The annual sale is open to students, staff, faculty and the general public. 

A large selection of items withdrawn from or unfit for circulation are available. Books will cost $1 and include a wide variety of materials including children’s books. Most items are in well-used condition. 

The books will be available on carts near the information desk. 

The sale is on-going while supplies last.
