“The field course was a pivotal point in my academic journey because if not for my study abroad experience, I genuinely would not be in this lab and I wouldn’t be doing my master’s in this area of study,” says Natalie Emerick (BSc 2025).
In 2023, Emerick and 13 other University of Windsor undergraduate science students accompanied professors Dan Mennill and Stéphanie Doucet to Paris for a field study course.

University of Windsor faculty and alumni will participate in a special Emancipation Day screening and post-film panel discussion of 12 Years a Slave in Amherstburg this month.
Hosted by the Windsor Film Society in partnership with the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, the event will take place at Hole in the Wall, a local cultural space above River Bookshop.

About five years ago, a group of electrical engineering students set out to bring their circuit designs and classroom theory to life by creating a space where students could see their ideas take shape. That vision has now been fully realized with the opening of a new student-led innovation space, aptly called the IDEA Lab.

Wearing lab coats and curiosity on their sleeves, some of the region’s top high school science students gathered at the University of Windsor last week for the 12th annual Science Academy.
Sixty students from across Windsor-Essex who recently completed Grade 11 took part in the five-day event, held July 7 to 11.

A UWindsor professor’s work on an insulated pavement design, aimed at reducing potholes and road deterioration generally by tackling the effects of freeze-thaw cycles, has earned national recognition.
Abimbola Grace Oyeyi, an assistant professor in the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, along with her research team, was recognized at the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Conference (CSCE) with the Stephen G. Revay Award for their paper exploring the use of lightweight cellular concrete (LCC) in pavement design.
