Discrete Strains (2009)

Discrete Strains is a work of variable duration for large chamber ensemble, live electronics, and live video mixing. The work is comprised of 10 distinct passages (strains) of music and corresponding video that are arranged into patterns of repetition and variation. A 20-minute version of this piece (entitled Discrete Music) was commissioned by Contact Contemporary Music for a program that included their arrangement of Brian Eno’s Discreet Music (1974).
