Abstract:
Luxury automotive user experience (UX) design differs from conventional application and web interface design due to its safety-critical context, constrained interaction environment, and emphasis on long-term user comfort. This workshop introduces students to persona-driven UX design through a realistic luxury electric SUV design case study. Participants will examine how user demographics, lifestyle, and emotional expectations shape infotainment system design decisions. The workshop highlights key luxury UX principles, including visual calm, interaction simplicity, intentional motion design, and curated feature selection. Students will learn how abstract concepts such as elegance, prestige, and uniqueness can be translated into practical interface layouts, visual language, and interaction flows for high-end automotive environments.
