Study Permit Extension Procedures

  • Attend one of the study permit extension workshops
  • Make an appointment on mysuccess with our International Student Advisor and learn how to apply for study permit extension
  • Gather the academic documents from Registrar Office (CELD for ELIP students)
  • Gather financial documents from banks, parents and sponsors Prepare other supporting documents, like explanation letter, e-medical receipt, etc.
  • Create a MYCIC account Fill out online questionnaires and application form(IMM 5709) (Templates are available at ISC)
  • Scan all the supporting documents
  • Make an appointment on mysuccess with our International Student Advisor to review the application package
  • Upload application forms and supporting documents
  • Pay & submit the application
  • Save a copy of the application form(IMM 5709) and supporting documents you submitted
  • Save a copy of your application confirmation
  • Scan the new study permit and send it to ISC@uwindsor.ca
  • Contact IRCC call centre (1-888-242-2100) for the application updates if it takes longer than regular processing time 
  • Make an appointment on mysuccess with our International Student Advisor if application is rejected or additional documents are required
