Second-year Windsor Law student, Angela Zhu, has been selected as finalist in the Social Cohesion category for the Lieutenant Governor’s Visionaries Prize.
The prize was created in partnership with the Walrus Foundation to give Ontario’s creative visionaries an outlet to present solutions to Canadian challenges in six main categories: Reconciliation, Governance, Inclusive Prosperity, Environmental Stewardship, Social Cohesion, and Scientific and Technological Innovation.
Zhu, along with five other finalists in the category, will present their visions in front of an audience of policy makers, industry leaders, and a panel of expert judges on September 28th in Brampton.
Zhu’s vision, A Price Worth Paying: Employer-Funded Mental Health Services in the Legal Profession, is based on a paper she wrote concerning mental health in the legal profession. She proposes an expansion of services to include mental health supports along with other para-medical services such as dental, optical, and chiropractic care.
Winners will receive $2,500, a spread in the pages of The Walrus magazine, and recognition from the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
