Last week, Windsor Law students competed virtually in the 48th Annual Zuber Moot. The Zuber Moot provides Windsor Law students with an opportunity to moot competitively and to practice their oral advocacy skills.
In the 2021 Zuber moot case, R v McColman, the Court of Appeal for Ontario dealt with actions taken in and around a private driveway.
A total of 8 teams comprising of 31 students competed in the preliminary rounds, and preliminary standouts included Lyann Ordenes (Honourable Mention Top Oralist), Robin Goldberg (Best Factum), and Justin Di Camillo (Best Factum).
The finalists, Talissa Mohamed and Ann-Mary Salama who represented the appellants, and Rudra Krishnan and Natasha Daley who represented the respondents, presented their arguments before Madame Justice Renee Pomerance of the Superior Court of Justice, Justice Andrew Pinto of the Superior Court of Justice, and Justice Lloyd Dean of the Ontario Court of Justice.
The bench reserved their decision and Natasha Daley and Talissa Mohamed were named top oralists.
