The University of Windsor’s Faculty of Education has launched its new strategic plan for 2025-2030.

Grounded in extensive consultations with faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members and school boards, this plan will help shape teaching, research, partnerships and impact over the next five years.

“Central to this plan is the Faculty’s commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization,” says Dr. Ken Montgomery, dean of the Faculty of Education.

“This focus is reflected in each of the plan’s five pillars and shapes our work across teaching, research and community partnerships.”

These five pillars—accountable and transparent planning, innovative teaching and learning, high-quality inclusive research and creative activity, deeper collaboration and partnership and a nurturing relational culture—will provide direction for the Faculty’s activities over the next five years.

Aligned with the University of Windsor’s Aspire strategic priorities, the strategy will guide the Faculty of Education’s efforts as it expands flexible learning opportunities, strengthens Indigenous and global partnerships and enhances knowledge mobilization.

The Strategic Plan and an Implementation Plan were unanimously endorsed by the Education Faculty Council following an extensive consultation process led by Dr. Julie Fraser of Creative Momentum Consulting.

“I want to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Fraser, as well as to our Faculty of Education leadership team, faculty, staff, students, instructors, alumni and community partners who contributed their time, insight, and care,” says Montgomery.

“This strategy is truly a collective achievement. We are proud to share a bold and collaborative roadmap that reflects the strengths, values, and aspirations of our community, and that will guide our work in research, teaching and partnerships both locally and globally over the next five years.”
