Canada’s top varsity men’s volleyball teams will bump, set and spike their way to Windsor.

From March 13 through 15, the University of Windsor’s Toldo Lancer Centre will become the epicentre of Canadian university volleyball. The nation’s top programs, elite student-athletes and passionate fans will converge in what is sure to be a landmark event as UWindsor hosts their first-ever varsity men’s volleyball national championship.

University of Windsor faculty members are helping bring new perspective and dialogue to an important piece of local and national history through their involvement in a recently released short documentary, The North Wall: Meanings of a Monument.

Produced by retired political science sessional instructor Blake Roberts, the film explores the significance of the Canadian Vietnam Memorial.

Marium Tolson-Murtty’s year started with an exciting email announcing her as a 2026 Top 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women honouree. 

“This organization, run by trailblazers themselves, recognizes the accomplishments of Black women across Canada from various industries, whether it’s education, entrepreneurship or STEM,” says Tolson-Murtty, director of human rights, conflict resolution and mediation.

Long before he was appointed a seat on the bench of Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice, Paul J. Barnes was learning how to think on his feet in a Windsor Law courtroom, honing the civil litigation skills that would define his legal career.

Barnes, a member of Windsor Law’s class of 2004, has been appointed an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, the Government of Ontario announced last month.
