28TH ANNUAL OPUS AWARDS BANQUET 2020
The OPUS awards banquet in March was postponed due to the pandemic and the virtual ceremony for the 2020 award recipients took place on October 30, 2020.
Given the unpredictable context with COVID, it was challenging to find alternatives and finalize the format for our awards banquet that year during unusual times. We appreciate your patience in this process, and we thank those that joined us, to celebrate these amazing recipients. The 2020 award recipients are listed in the poster below.

26TH ANNUAL OPUS AWARDS BANQUET 2018
The 26th Annual OPUS Awards Banquet on Fri. Mar. 23, 2018 at the Caboto Club was a huge success with 21 award recipients and 160 guests. It was an exceptional celebration of OPUS's 49 years of existence and for acknowledging those outstanding individuals who make our university a unique place and those students that lead the way to a successful future. Award honourees received a certificate plaque and other gifts from OPUS. The event included musical performances by UWINDSOR student Adeniyi Agbola and local musician Crissi Cochrane. There was a special visual presentation for the OPUS Executive Director Maryam Amalow for receiving the lifetime achievement award and for her 13 years of service to the organization. Maryam also received an appreciation award from GSS at their banquet on Mar. 22.
Guests at the event also viewed a video highlighting the organization’s involvement during the 2017-18 academic year. Dr. Alan Wildeman received a token of appreciation from the OPUS Board of Directors and Staff for his years of service as UWindsor President. Thanks to our event emcee Ronnie Haidar and congratulations on receiving an appreciation award.
