Chad Curtis

Originally from Woodstock, Ontario, Chad holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Windsor, and an MA in Political Science from Dalhousie University, with previous studies in History and Classics.  His MA thesis, Canada’s Defence Procurement Crisis: Why Failure is the Norm, examined the systemic flaws of procurement in Canada which have  resulted in an outdated and nearly obsolete defence spending model.  Upon graduation, Chad took the tools and skills he developed at the University of Windsor and began his career in  public service.
Chad credits his degree in Political Science as being vital to his personal and professional development.  Personally, Chad met his spouse, Rachael, at the University of Windsor.  Together, they welcomed their first child to the world in 2019.  In addition, Chad made numerous lifelong relationships with classmates and colleagues.  Professionally, the faculty at the University of Windsor provided him with the skills to be successful in the workplace.  His degree taught him how to think critically and assess information in a scientific manner.
While at the University of Windsor, Chad utilized several resources available to him in the Political Science Department.  He worked numerous terms as a Teaching Assistant,  which offered him additional money during the semester and the opportunity to build his resume.  He also utilized a department co-op opportunity to intern in the Clerk’s Department at the Town of Lasalle.  This career development internship provided a path to his current position, Deputy Clerk with the County of Prince Edward.
Chad keeps in touch with many of his professors and is thankful for the mentoring and guidance they provided throughout his time in the Political Science department.
