The movie will be shown in its original version with English subtitles.
The event is free of charge. The screening of the movie will start at 6:30 PM. Free street parking will be available after 6:00 PM. Those interested in attending should RSVP Dr. Judy Sinanga-Ohlmann at ohlmann@uwindsor.ca.
C.R.A.Z.Y (2005) is directed by famous Quebec film-maker Jean-Marc Vallée and won “best Canadian movie” at the Toronto Film Festival. It also represented Canada during the 2006 Oscar nominations. It is the story of an adolescent, Zachary Beaulieu, growing up in Montreal during the 1970s and trying to define himself. He must deal with an emerging sexual identity crisis and an intense desire to please a fiery and uncompromising father whom he adores above all else.
This movie screening is organized in the context of the month of the Francophonie in Canada. Our country, which has French as one of its two official languages, is home to the largest number of French speakers in the Americas. In 2021, 10.7 million French speakers were recorded. Windsor is one of the centers of the Francophonie in Ontario with more than 38 000 francophones.
