The School of Computer Science, along with a few other sponsors, was excited to host our first Windsor-Essex Google Developers DevFest on Saturday October 5th. This event attracted over 200 people, including students from regional secondary schools, St. Clair College, as well as, University of Windsor, from various disciplines. The day was packed with 19 speakers from Google, Atlas Oil, Shopify and many more, offering interesting talks on Machine Learning, AI and Google Cloud; and opportunities to network with some highly respected employers. The high school students worked on Arduino Microcontrollers to build a wide range of projects from self-balancing robots to line tracking robots and were able to keep what they built to continue their learning experience after the event.
