Title: Crafting the Next Frontier: Smart, Secure, and Self-Healing Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) for a Hyperconnected World
Date: Friday December 1, 2023
Time: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Erie Hall Room 3123
Abstract: Today's advanced and intelligent cyber-physical systems (CPS) promise to bring a wealth of benefits and conveniences to our society that are deeply interconnected with technology. However, realizing these cutting-edge autonomous systems and services requires guaranteed network performance, high reliability, security, and the integration of suitable AI techniques. Dr. Haque's team is at the forefront of this transformation. His research focuses on crafting innovative, efficient, and practical solutions for high-impact smart-city applications such as smart homes, smart grids, smart transportation (autonomous vehicles/drones), and smart healthcare. In developing these secure and autonomous CPS, Dr. Haque's research addresses critical challenges in next-generation network performance and reliability, AI integration, and cybersecurity issues - critical components in building robust, secure, and intelligent CPS. In his talk, Dr. Haque will present an overview of his team's research achievements in these areas, including some of his successful lab-to-market initiatives, and shed light on some open questions that continue to drive their work forward.
