This workshop provides an overview of the core concepts of IoT and cloud computing. As you know, the Internet of Things (IoT) generates a plethora of data nowadays, and cloud computing has been introduced as an efficient solution to IoT data management. So, this session covers applications and challenges, addressing their core concepts and architecture design. Participants will also be familiar with theoretical discussions and the method I suggested in my journal paper. By the end of this session, students seeking to deepen their knowledge of cloud computing and IoT fields will be equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the integration challenges, architectural design considerations, and optimization techniques, enabling them to apply these concepts in their research and projects.
- Introduction of IoT and cloud computing
- The layered architecture of IoT
- IoT network and traditional IP network
- Cloud computing services
- Cloud deployment models
- Applications of cloud computing and IoT integration
- Challenges facing cloud-based IoT integration
- A proposed method for integration
Primary familiarity with IoT and cloud computing concepts.
Younes is a Ph.D. student and research assistant who started his program at the School of Computer Science in Fall 2023. His main research areas are data management, cloud computing, and IoT.
