Abstract:

This workshop explores key factors and design criteria involved in developing effective user interfaces and user experiences for recreational vehicles. It examines current RV systems and features, focusing on how users interact with them in real-world scenarios. By discussing limitations from both user and designer perspectives, the workshop identifies gaps in current RV UI/UX practices and highlights areas for improvement. It then outlines design directions to address these gaps and discusses technologies and tools that can support the visualization, prototyping, and implementation of improved RV user experiences.

Workshop Outline:

  • Current RV UI Systems

  • User Needs & Pain Points

  • Design Limitations

  • Gaps & Opportunities

  • Design Directions for RV UI/UX

  • Supporting Technologies

Biography:

Atefeh is a PhD candidate working on camera-based defect detection for manufactured components, with a focus on electric vehicle parts where subtle defects may indicate early safety risks. Her research develops fast, data-efficient methods that run directly on industrial cameras, enabling reliable real-time inspection with minimal training and computation.
