Building A Cardboard Robotic Arm
Participants will build a cardboard robotic arm that is activated by pulling on strings. Their design will be able to pick up small items off the ground with a hook attached to the end and will have the movement and resemblance of real robotic arms. From assembling car parts to the Canadarm on the space shuttle, robotic arms are used in a variety of ways to perform complex and human-like tasks in many applications all over the world and engineers are at the forefront of all these latest innovations.
Note – participants must gather supplies on hand prior to the event. These are common household items, or can be purchased for minimal cost at any Dollar Store.
