Reporting a heating, cooling or ventilation concern

Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM — contact Maintenance Dispatch at ext. 2850

Outside these hours — contact the engineer on duty at ext. 7027

Reporting a Concern

Call volumes increase considerably when outside temperatures change sharply. Please indicate the extent of the temperature variance when reporting, as this determines whether a situation requires emergency attention or can be scheduled for the next available technician.

Please provide the following when reporting:

Building and room number; the current thermostat reading; the expected reading; and how long the condition has persisted.

Certain areas require immediate attention. Others are addressed as soon as personnel can be dispatched to the area. All reported concerns are attended to.

Air Quality

Air quality on campus is an ongoing priority. The computerized preventative maintenance system ensures that air handling equipment is properly serviced so that appropriate air quality is maintained.

All reported air quality concerns are investigated promptly and appropriate action is taken. Air quality concerns should be reported through the same contacts shown above.

Building Automation

HVAC monitoring, campus-wide supervisory control and energy management are administered by the Building Automation Department, located in the Energy Conversion Centre and reachable at ext. 2869 or 2883.
