Shipping and Receiving

Shipping and Receiving handles courier, freight and parcel shipments for departments across campus. Incoming shipments are received, recorded and distributed; outgoing shipments are prepared for collection by the University's preferred carriers.

Shipping and Receiving is responsible for all mail, courier and freight other than Canada Post mail. Canada Post mail and student parcels are handled by Distribution Services.

Sending a Shipment

Departments arrange outgoing courier shipments through their own courier accounts. All waybills must be generated digitally through the carrier's website; handwritten waybills are not accepted.

Scheduling a pickup is the most reliable method. Contact your carrier directly to arrange collection of your items.

Alternatively, outgoing courier items may be left in the Distribution outgoing mail box or in your building's outgoing mail slot. Items are transported to Shipping and Receiving, where the carriers collect.

Urgent and Same-Day Shipments

For urgent courier shipments, schedule a pickup with the carrier directly or take the item to the carrier's own drop-off location rather than waiting for the scheduled campus collection.

Same-day Canada Post items must be brought directly to Shipping and Receiving ahead of the 1:00 PM collection. Postage must already be applied.

A drop box for urgent outgoing mail is available at Shipping and Receiving and may be used at any hour.

U.S. orders alternative: international orders that cannot ship directly to campus may be sent to a U.S. warehouse. Email customs@uwindsor.ca for warehouse details.
