Dr. Millar joined the Department of Kinesiology in July 2017 in the area of Sport Management and Leadership. She previously held a faculty position at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York. Dr. Millar earned her PhD in Sport Management in 2015 from Western University and holds a Master of Arts in Applied Health Science (Sport Management) from Brock University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Millar’s research focuses on the management and development of non-profit and voluntary sport, with a specific focus on understanding the process of capacity building within community sport and recreation organizations, workforce development throughout the non-profit sport sector, and community sport organizations as agents in policy implementation. Her research also focuses on sport and community, and investigating the pace of sport within our communities, exploring the meanings and experiences of sport participation, and how sport can be used as a tool for social change.
