It is with great sadness that the Department of Political Science mourns the passing of the Honorable Howard Pawley, former Premier of Manitoba, professor emeritus at the University of Windsor, Windsor resident, and tireless social justice advocate.
Howard passed away on December 30, 2015, at the age of 81.

Dr. Stephen Brooks conducted a lively and insightful video interview with Howard on the history and practice of Canadian democracy.
A remembrance service was held on campus on January 9, and friends, family, and community members spoke fondly and passionately about their memories of Howard and his legacy in Windsor and beyond. Howard's lifetime of accomplishments and advocacy have created a lasting legacy, and he will be truly missed.
