About the Opportunity
The Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Business and Management is a prestigious visiting scholar award that brings a leading U.S. academic or experienced professional to the Odette School of Business for a sustained period of research, teaching, and public engagement.
Established through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Windsor and Fulbright Canada in October 2025, this Chair is part of a broader commitment to host up to four Fulbright Scholars on campus each academic year. It is one of more than forty Fulbright Canada Research Chair opportunities offered across the country, and the only Business and Management Chair hosted at the University of Windsor.
The Chair will align with Odette's mission to cultivate innovative, socially responsible business leaders and to produce impactful, multidisciplinary research that bridges scholarship and society.

Why the Odette School of Business
The Odette School of Business is an AACSB-accredited institution located in Windsor, Ontario, directly across the border from Detroit, Michigan. This position at one of the busiest commercial crossings between Canada and the United States makes Odette a natural hub for research on cross-border trade, governance, and economic policy.
Faculty work across accounting, finance, management and labour studies, supply chain management, business data analytics, marketing, and strategy and entrepreneurship. The Fulbright Chair will join a research community that has built deliberate strength at the intersection of management, governance, and societal well-being.
Research Focus Areas
Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that align with one or more of the following thematic areas:
- Ethical and Innovative Business Practices: Research that advances transparency, ethical conduct, and innovation as foundations of modern business.
- Resilience and Sustainability: Work that explores the intersections of justice, governance, and well-being as drivers of business resilience.
- Entrepreneurship for Societal Change: Inquiry into how entrepreneurship can advance equitable, lasting societal transformation.
- Holistic Business Strategy: Strategy research aimed at improving long-term economic outcomes across sectors and communities.

Role of the Chair
Beyond independent research, the Fulbright Chair takes on a full role in the academic community:
- Conduct Research: Pursue an independent project or collaborate with Odette faculty on shared research questions.
- Teach and Mentor: Deliver guest lectures in undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor emerging scholars.
- Engage the Public: Speak in public forums, contribute to community dialogue, and represent the Fulbright program.

This Chair is open to:
- U.S. citizens
- Faculty members at U.S. institutions
- Experienced professionals in relevant business and management fields
- Applicants with an established record of scholarship or practice
Applicants do not need to secure a formal letter of invitation from the University of Windsor, although they are encouraged to reach out to the Odette School of Business in advance to discuss research interests and identify potential faculty collaborators.
