Student Visa Requirements
Under no circumstance should a student come to Canada without satisfying student Visa Requirements
When you have received your official letter of acceptance to the University of Windsor, contact the nearest Canadian visa office (embassy, high commission or consulate) to go about satisfying Student Visa Requirements.
The Study Permit is what allows you to study in Canada. Students can apply for their permits and visas online or by mail. Make sure to read the instructions at canadainternational.gc.ca.
The Temporary Resident Visa TRV is what allows you to enter Canada. This process will differ among visa offices abroad and may take up to six months to complete.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada Information for Students
Preparing for Classes
To begin preparing for school at the University of Windsor, you must log in to the student account services site called UWinsite Student. This is where you can search and register for courses, apply to live in residence, change your address, check important account information, and access many other campus services.
If you have not yet activated your student account, you can do so at UWinsite Student. You will need to enter your Student Number and PAC (personal access code), then register. Check your acceptance letter or email for the required information!
Paying your fees
To pay tuition and Residence's fees, international students must use the International Payment (overseas countries) with CIBC International Student Pay option.
Living On Campus
If you want to live on the university campus, you must register with the University Residence Services Office. Residence strives to promote an academically successful living and learning environment by providing opportunities to learn valuable life lessons outside of the walls of a traditional classroom. Students living on campus will have opportunities to meet new people, avoid arranging transportation to classes, and need not worry about buying furniture or cooking meals. You can expect personal, academic and social support and friendships that last a lifetime!
Please visit www.uwindsor.ca/residence for additional information.
