International Student Engagement in Higher Education Classrooms
This is a multi-national study involving partner institutions from Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany that will explore the factors associated with increasing international student engagement in postsecondary education classes. It will identify successful teaching practices that will form the basis of research dissemination which will include workshops, conference presentations, and possible publications.
The Impact of Microaggressions on the Mental Health of Chinese International Students in Canada
The primary goal of this study is to conduct a qualitative study through in-depth interviews and analysis of the mental health challenges faced by Chinese international students who experience microaggressions both on campus and in the broader community. The study aims to identify the specific types of microaggressions that most significantly impact the mental health of Chinese international students, and to develop actionable strategies for mitigating the negative impacts.Participants will include Chinese international students (individual interviews) and mental health professionals (focus group).
